Christ Church Away Day - Emmanuel Church, Laindon Road, Billericay Saturday 16th October 2010
“Create in me a pure heart” (Psalm 51 v 10)
Do put this date in your diary! It is the first time that we have held a Christ Church Away Day and we are hoping many of you will be able to come to this day of teaching, worship and prayer which is for the whole family.
Main Speaker – Rev Rob Richards
We are delighted that former Vicar of Christ Church, Rob Richards and his wife Anna will be joining us.
Rob, who will be our main speaker, is presently semi-retired in the Team Ministry at Wareham in Dorset. When Rob was Team Vicar he chaired “Festival ‘89” when we had a 2,000 seat tent over ten wonderful days at Sun Corner and many people came to faith in Jesus.
After leaving Christ Church Rob became UK Director of CMJ (Church’s Ministry among Jewish People) for four years, living in Chorleywood and worshipping at St Andrew’s Church. During those years, New Wine developed and Rob and Anna were involved in different ways.
In 2001 Rob was appointed Senior Chaplain at Lee Abbey, a Christian Community, Retreat and Conference Centre in North Devon and was involved in Church weekend conferences, pastoral work and speaking.
Rob and Anna are presently working with Connect 2010 which is a five-day teaching and worship event where hundreds of people of all ages can connect and grow together in Word and Spirit. More than 20 South Dorset churches are involved.
Rob is also author of the book “Has God finished with Israel?” which takes a close look at the place of Israel within the purposes of God.
Plans for the Away Day
